Potty training a 6-week-old small puppy and managing crate time?

How do I properly potty train my 6 week pup who is a small bred terrier? This is a lot different from my childhood dog who was 3 months when we got her and she was a mid sized bred who could go outside on her own when she was potty trained. I'm also having a hard time leaving her in her cage when I leave for work and during the evenings when I run errands and have meetings. I think I'm leaving her in there for too long even though I come home on my lunch break to let her outside. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | 1 month and 15 days old | 2 lbs
