My dog is gassy after starting trazodone. Is this a side effect?

Will trazadone cause gas? My dog is normally not gassy but it seems since starting trazadone he’s become very gassy!!!!

Trazodone can have the adverse effect of causing colitis (inflamed colon), which in turn could potentially cause gas. I would also look into your food selection and make sure you are giving an easily digestible diet, such as Royal Canin hydrolyzed protein, California Natural by Natura, Iams (limited ingredient), etc. You can also consult with your veterinarian about prescribing an anti-gas medication temporarily until hopefully Shea adjusts to the medication.
