Why is my cat vomiting after eating and drinking water?

Started with cats diarrhea last week with slight blood in stool. Now cat is vomiting after every meal although I'm feeding small amounts of food and water to reduce stomach irritation. When he drinks just water it seems he vomits a clear watery substance. No diarrhea noted for past few days
