My dog is acting sick and not himself after I went away. What's wrong?

Hey my dog pheonix has gotten alot worse when i went away for 2 weeks. I got home and he definitely was not himself, he usually follows me with his amazing gaze and cheeky bark but the littlest things he does normally he will not do anymore. So i knew he was sick and so did my whole family. Ive been treating him with apple cider vineger a teaspoon in his dry food with warm water so he doesnt stop eating just incase his mouth gets sore from chewing hard to bite the dry stuff. pheonix is experiencing very general symptoms of disease, these symptoms could fit almost any internal condition, maybe he is suffering from nausea due to a gastrointestinal disease and maybe he is in pain, from the symptoms described it's very hard to know. i would recommend taking him to the vet as soon as possible in order to get him checked, if he doesn't show any other obvious symptoms during the examination, a blood test and possibly an ultrasound will be needed in order to try and find out what is wrong with pheonix .
