Hello, I am Tarsi I live in Greece and my dog Snoopy, he is a Kokoni a small Greek breed, is 13 years old and epileptic. He has prostate problems and in the summer he was diagnosed with hernia. He cannot poop easily and it became very big in the last days. Since yesterday he is shivering and doesn’t eat much. The question is this can he be operated? And also can I give him a pain killer?

You cannot give him any human pain killers, only pain killers that have been prescribed by your vet. he can be operated, there is probably no other option as his intestines are likely getting blocked due to the hernia, special caution will need to be taken because of his epilepsy, his age and his general health condition.
