My dog has winter dandruff despite omegas. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 10 months old | 59 lbs

My dog’s food Contains omega 3 and 6 and still every winter she get dandruff what should i do to solve this problem?

Not all dog foods have high enough amounts of omegas to help with skin function. They are also used to stabilize/preserve the food. There are lots of different causes for dandruff, including allergies, skin parasites, general dryness or unhealthy skin for another reason. I would start with a vet visit to rule out a more serious medical condition and talk about higher doses of omegas and perhaps particular medicated bathes to help. I really like the brand nordic naturals for the fish oils.

    Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! There are many omega 3 supplements you can buy online. I prefer the Nordic natural products that you can get from amazon as they are high quality and well-tolerated. It does help with the dandruff and skin issues in general. Good luck!
