Why did both my parakeets die suddenly, just weeks apart?

My other parakeet just passed away. Just looked at her to see what she was doing and she was playing in the mirror. Came back five minutes later and she was at the bottom of the cage. I know i got them both at the same time at the pet store when they were babies, however is it normal that kiwi just passed away as koko just passed away two weeks ago. She didn’t seem to be grieving what so ever. She ate, water,play, etc. They never came out of cage so I don’t know how they could be sick. Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Female | unspayed | 8 years and 1 month old

Hello, I am very sorry to hear about Kiwi. Situations like this can be so challenging and hard to experience. When birds are not feeling well they often spend the majority of time at the bottom of their cage. It is very hard to know what happened without having evaluated Kiwi, however upper respiratory infections secondary to bacteria are not uncommon in parakeets, many of these are contagious among birds. Other systemic infections due to bacteria are also seen in Parakeets. I hope this helps. Losing multiple pets in such a short period of time is incredibly saddening, I am very sorry for your loss.
