My dog won't eat or drink, is sluggish, and vet found nothing.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Male | 9 years and 8 months old | 45 lbs

My dog won't eat or drink and I made him chicken. He's not himself and he's already been to vet for xray and stool test, not dehydrated and I left him there all day. Nothing determined and he was given pain med shot. He's very sluggish and seem to have trouble urinating and poo or could be because he hasn't eaten or drank water today. I hate for him to lay here and do nothing. I think his nose is drying. I spent $250 with no clarity. Help?

If Snoop is really not doing well then I would recommend hospitalizing him on IV fluids. I would also recommend diagnostics like an ultrasound to see what is going on with Snoop. I am concerned that he isn't eating and isn't doing well but he should go back to the veterinarian for more of a work up and treatment.
