Why is my dog anxious, twitchy, and suddenly acting unlike himself?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 4 years and 5 months old | 21 lbs

Meeko woke up anxious and rapid breathing. Now he is twitchy, when outside is insistent on coming back in, pulling me and ignoring my commands. Doesnt run to door when come in or lay by me. He pushes away if sit by him. No interest in toys, cuddles, or sleep. No fever. Will eat, very little drink. No bm, wont stay out long enough.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Meeko. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian. He may be experiencing neck or back pain as this is common in small breed dogs. It can create the changes you have described. His veterinarian will do an examination and determine if this seems to be the case. If so, x-rays may be taken and medication prescribed. In the meantime, keep him very quiet to allow his body to rest. Do not give any over-the-counter pain medications as these can be toxic to dogs. I hope this information helps!
