Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 7 months and 25 days old | 115 lbs
My dog was eating his dry food (Royal Canin) just fine on its own. I gave him a flea topical (Hart’s UltraGuard) then the next day on his regular feeding schedule he wouldn’t eat his dry food. And then later he had what looked like a bacterial infection of the skin and a reaction. Why the eating issues and the fungal/bacterial problems after the topical? I got medicated spray and shampoo so I’ve been treating the itching and wounds. And his stool didn’t change. Help please !

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I suspect him not eating his food and having that topical medication applied are unrelated issues. He may have an infection or perhaps if this was noted at the site where the topical was administered, this could be due to a reaction for instance. I recommend you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and treat accordingly. Good luck and have a great day!
