Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Female | unspayed | 11 years and 1 month old

I have 12 year old dog unspayed having pyometra from 20 days. In the first 7 days vet gave her injections and 2 times drip and refused for surgery of removal of uterus saying it is very risky . Now her condition is very critical.. she is not able to stand or sit.. or eat. We gave her food and water with the help of syringe and puss is flowing continously from her vagina.. she has problem in breathing and remain in resting position from 2 days. How can we cure her . What are the options left?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Taffy. Unfortunately, surgery is the only ways to cure her if this condition. The sooner it is performed, the better as she will be less debilitated. If her veterinarian will not perform the surgery due to the risk, then you will need to seek specialist care. Otherwise you will need to discuss euthanasia with her veterinarian if she is suffering. I am sorry about her situation and hope this information helps.
