How to humanely stop neighbor cats from pooping in my garden?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I have moved into a house with neighboring cats using my front & back door gardens to toilet. It stinks. I have tried 3 “keep off” commercial products, planted lavender & lemon thyme & placed 20+ lemon halves where they go. Nothing is working. Don’t want to harm the cats just want them to leave. Any ideas please?

I suggest you use a motion activated sprinkler. It will go off when the cats trip the sensor. Once they get wet, I assume they won't want to come back. Tends to work really well. Best wishes.
