My dog ate acorns. Are they toxic or poisonous? What should I do?

Thank you for contacting Pet Coach with your question about Junior. Yes they can be toxic. They contain gallotanins, a combination of gallic acid and tannic acid which can be harmful to dogs causing stomach upset and even kidney disease. In addition, if he ate enough of them, it could cause a GI obstruction. I would not let him eat them. I hope this helps!
