Patch of dry skin on back of 8 week old puppy’s neck the vet missed it at her health check yesterday and she’s going to her new home tomorrow it’s like a mound of dry skin that feels like a scab and it has a hole in the middle of it doesn’t hurt her and she’s otherwise healthy and

It is not possible to assess this "dry patch of skin" without at least a photo or a hands on exam. Your vet likely noticed it but did not think it was a problem and thereforee did not mention it. I suggest you ring your vet tomorrow and ask him what he thinks this patch is and if he does not remember it take the puppy back and have him examine it. I am sure the move to a new owner can be delayed for a day. Be up front with the new owners and tell them you want this checked out before the puppy leaves to ensure all is well. This will definitely support a good breeder reputation.

It could be a local skin infection, skin growth or an insect bite or sting. Without being able to see the lesion it’s difficult to know exactly what it might be. If it doesn’t go away in the next 5-7 days, if more lesions pop up, or if she seems itchy I would recommend having a vet take a look.
