What's the recommended Ranitidine dosage for my senior constipated cat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Ranitidine was mentioned in this article as a consideration in the management of feline constipation. My chronically constipated 15 year old Ocicat weighs 13.5 pounds; he has normal kidney and liver function. Could you please provide the recommended oral dosage of Ranitidine? Thanks!

You should contact your vet's office for a recommendation as we are not in a position legally to give out dosages. In order to do legally so we would have to have a patient-veterinarian-owner relationship with you. Your veterinarian also knows your dog and the potential risks for your dog receiving this medication. There are very effective prescription medications your vet can prescribe for your kitty.
