My dog is coughing blood. What if I can't afford the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 11.5 lbs

My dog is bleeding from the mouth and recently she has begun to cough up blood clots. She is 14 years old, has a skin condition and two mammary tumors. She lives among 2 other dogs in a house with my mother and me. We have a vet appointment coming up, but I fear that we won't have the money to pay for the visit. Pleas help!

I'm so sorry to hear that Francis is unwell. What you are describing sounds like a medical emergency, and Francis should be evaluated by a veterinarian immediately, as it sounds like she is suffering a great deal. Please call the following emergency hospital near you and explain the situation http://www.aecgreenville.com/ If cost is a concern they may be able to refer you to a local shelter or low cost clinic. Good luck
