Pet's info: Bird | Cockatiel | Female
I have a female cockaitel who just recently lost her partner. He died next to her in a box they have for nesting. Before i could remove him she was very defensive. After, she was okay but she had diarrhea. Now shes okay, shes eating and drinking fine. Except shes very energetic right now. Shes pacing back and forth, climbing all over the cage and jumping. This is kind of unusual so i dont know why she is like that. Can you please explain to me why shes so energetic even though her partner died?

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your bird! It just could be this is how Peppa is reacting to the loss of your other bird. if she seems lonely or bored, adding in a new friend may help her to relax some and settle back down. You can also offer some toys or special treats to help keep her occupied and get out some of that extra energy. Spending more time together may also help both you and her after the loss of your bird as well.
