My cat threw up hairball with black specks. Can you tell me what this is?

This could be dirt she ingested with the hair when she was grooming, or she ate something that was, for example, burnt or charred and is not digestible. It is not something to worry about, in my opinion. Since your kitty obviously is a good groomer, I suggest you get a tube of hair ball remedy and give her some regularly to help with elimination of the hair balls. There is also dry food with hair ball control ingredients.
