Dogs barking at work? How to keep them quiet in a hotel room?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 4 years and 7 months old | 80 lbs

I have a 4 year old pitbull male that is fixed and and a 3 year old pitbull female who is not spayed. I have to stay at a hotel till I have enough for a home. I'm afraid my dogs will bark when I'm at work.. any suggestions for keeping them quite so I can leave for work.

Taking them for a walk or run before you leave so they are tired will help. Also play classical music which helps them to relax and will diminish the outside noises. In addition I would leave the drapes pulled, again so they don’t see anything outside and they are more likely to rest in a darken room. I’ve had good luck using a Sonic Egg as a bark deterrent. It can be used inside or outside. When you get back take them for another long walk or run so they don’t get built up energy.
