Was putting down my senior cat with kidney failure the right decision?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 16 years and 5 months old | 5.5 lbs

Good Afternoon, Could someone please take a look at the blood test results that I have attached as the pictures? These are the results of my 16-year-old cat. I was told by the vet over the phone that she has a severe case of kidney failure and that nothing can be done for her. She was suffering a lot last two days and yesterday morning I had to put her down. Today I received actual results and I'm wondering if I have made the right decision. I appreciate your help.

Going through this is extremely difficult but know you did the right thing for Beca. They were absolutely correct that she was in a severe case of Kidney failure. You absolutely did the right thing for her. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach and I am very sorry for your loss.
