Our 10 month old Aussie/lab pup has always had a sort of popping/clicking noise in his nose when he’s sniffing intently it tracking, such as on a walk, or when he’s trackjng down some food in the floor. He has an otherwise clean bill of health, but I’m wondering if this is anything to worry about? I’ve read that some water dogs have this to keep water out of their airways, but didn’t know if that’s the case. As a CVA in trading, I’m stumped!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I may not have an exact answer for you but it is likely normal for your dog. It could be his tongue hitting the roof of his mouth as he is "tasting" what he is sniffing. There is a olfactory gland on the roof of the mouth right behind the incisors. Or it should be his epiglottis opening and closing as he breaths or the soft palate is a bit long and it is flapping as he breaths. If something changes when he breathes normally I would see your Vet and get a work up. Good luck
