Is my 10-week-old kitten's shaking and wobbly walk due to allergies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 15 days old

My cat keeps shaking throughout his body and legs. He wobblys when he walks and gets scared easily. He seems as if he can not see at times and keeps licking his paw. He also moves his ears around and hasn’t gone to the bathroom since early in the morning. Please help. He is 10 weeks old

This is probably caused by an allergic reaction. first of all make sure you de-flea Mocha regularly every month with a high quality spot on (ex. Advantage) as fleas are by far the most common reason for these reactions. If the fleas are not the problem, it could be an allergic reaction to food or an environmental factor. this is more complicated to treat and will sometimes require medications such as Steroids, anti histamines or cyclosporin in order to stop the allergy.

I would recommend having Mocha examined by a vet. These symptoms could be caused by hypoglycemia, toxicity, internal organ disease (such as a liver shunt), or something else entirely. If you recently treated Mocha with a flea preventative or other topical treatments, you should wash it off with dish soap immediately.
