Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1 month and 2 days old
All the kittens in the litter have died but one, I'm worried it will happen to her too. I don't think the mother is producing milk. Baby won't take bottle, doesn't want it out of a bowl, doesn't want dry food, or water. She is about 5 weeks old. What can I do?

At 5 weeks Baby should be old enough to start eating some solid food. You can try mixing some canned kitten food with some kitten formula like KMR and putting it in a shallow dish. If she still won’t eat I would recommend seeing a veterinarian to determine what might be wrong. They can also teach you how to tube feed if necessary.

At five weeks old, Grayson is sill too young to be away from it his mother, as he will barely be weaned. Kittens should not be adopted out until they are at least six to eight weeks of age. He clearly isn't used to dry food yet, so I will give you a method to help him get used to it. To help him get used to dry food, I would soak a high quality kitten formulated dry food in warm water until soft. Then mix that with kitten formula such as KMR to make a mush the consistency of oatmeal. Over the next two weeks, gradually increase the amount of dry kitten food and decrease the amount of water and KMR you use until he is eating the dry kitten food only.

Freya is so cute! At her age, you can start weaning her onto solid food, and I can give you a method for doing it. To help her wean and to get used to dry food, I would soak a high quality kitten formulated dry food in warm water until soft. Then mix that with kitten formula such as KMR to make a mush the consistency of oatmeal. Over the next two weeks, gradually increase the amount of dry kitten food and decrease the amount of water and KMR you use until she is eating the dry kitten food only. You can keep giving her moist food off your finger is she will eat, and don't worry about her eating nose first as many cats seem to put their face straight in the food bowl. I hope this helps!
