Why are my French Bulldog's toes red and swollen? Allergies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 6 months old | 30 lbs

My French bulldog Charlie is 2 1/2 years old. Recently his two from front paws have swelling and redness in between its toes. I’m not sure what can be the cause. Can it be allergies or is it much worse?

It does look quite red between Charlie’s toes. He could have a skin infection secondary to allergies. It also looks like he might have an interdigital cyst or inflammatory nodule in between his toes which can also be related to allergies. I would suggest seeing your vet to discuss treatment options. He may need topical or oral medications to help treat infection and you can also discuss the possibility of allergies during the visit.
