Why won't my dog sleep in my bed and always chews toys on my lap?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 7 months and 18 days old | 115 lbs

Wyd does my dog never want to sleep in my bed? He will leap up when invited (which. I won’t complain about) but he will sleep around the bed or as close as possible but not in bed with me. I’m curious. Also why does my dog have to always chew his toys physically on me or in my lap? Or stand against me and do it

It may be much too warm for him in your bed. He feels secure in your presence and therefore he will sleep near you. He apparently also feels secure enough to chew on his toys while touching you. However I think you should not let him do that as it may be a sign of disrespect as in "haha, I can chew my toy on you and you don't dare take my toy from me!"
