Pet's info: Cat | British Shorthair | Male | neutered | 3.5 lbs
My cat has started coughing a bit more recently, he used to cough and sneeze sometimes but in the past week and a half these small coughs have developed into small coughing fits, He's only had about 5 of these coughing fits and he hasn't lost any weight or looked more ill. He's also a British Shorthair with a flat face so he sometimes breathes quite loudly and snores regularly. Are coughs and general breathing issues just something that's associated with his breed or shall I take him to a vet?

While flat-faced breeds can sometimes have more trouble breathing due to slightly different nasal structures, constant coughing fits are not typical. I would definitely bring him to your vet for a check up just to rule out any more serious issues such as asthma, parasites, etc, that may be causing coughing.
