Cat's chin raw from collar. Can I use ointment or home remedy?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Bombay | Male | neutered | 11 months and 6 days old | 5 lbs

So my cats collar was rubbing against his chin and made it irritated and missing a little bit of hair and I don't have the money to get anything for him so can I put Risamine ointment on him?

If the collar just rubbed off the hair, then there shouldn't be a need to put any medication on it. Minor irritation will heal without any treatment. I am not familiar with Risamine use in pets. I do not generally recommend using any ointment on cats since they will likely groom it off immediately and swallow it.
