Pet's info: Dog | American Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 5 years and 1 month old | 100 lbs
My American Bulldog has scrapes around his elbows and paws which get very swollen and start to bleed. I assume they're infected. We gave him cephalexin pills that were 500mg each 2 times a day, every 12 hours. He got better but the scrapes still persist. I am not sure what to do so i am asking you for help.

I am very sorry to hear about Rocky. I would recommend he be examined by a veterinarian for this issue. I would be concerned he could have something more than a simple infection based on these photos, that require more treatment than a course of antibiotics. We could have a fungal infection, an eosinophilic granuloma condition, or unfortunately we would also be concerned about tumors of the skin. The vet may recommend additional testing such as cytology, fungal culture, needle aspirate or biopsy based on their examination which will help guide their treatment.
