Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I have a dog Marley who turned 10 today. I’m looking to get a puppy pit bull probably but she tends to attack dogs she was attacked when she was a puppy and another time at 8 or 9 years old and she attacked another dog that she was playing with out of nowhere a year and a half ago as I said I want to get another dog but I can’t risk her hurting it but I don’t want to get rid of her what do I do

In all honestly, I would wait until Marley has passed before getting another dog. It sounds like she is the type of dog that prefers to be an only dog, and putting a puppy with her may be too stressful for her. I wouldn't want this puppy to get hurt either. It won't hurt you to have to wait a few years before getting another dog, but at least that way, you know the puppy will be safe. That would be my advice, I hope this helps!
