Why is my old dog struggling to move and whining from joint pain?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 12 years and 11 months old | 12 lbs

Our 14 year old Jack Russell Maltese cross female Ellie is Having trouble moving around couldn't get downstairs whines when picked up not displaying aggressiveness still eating if hand fed softer food We were able to get her to take a baby aspirin and she seems more comfortable if not herself now

I am sorry to hear about Ellie Mae! I would recommend bringing her into the vet for an examination. She could be experiencing arthritis, an issue with a ligament or tendon, or she could have a herniated disk in her spine. The vet can examine her and based on their findings may recommend an x-ray or a trial of medication safe for your pet. I do not recommend aspirin in pets as it can be very hard on their stomach and we can see bleeding stomach ulcers with its use.
