Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 6 months old | 7 lbs

My cat recently does not pee in cat litter, but elsewhere and more frequent. She is 1year old and i want to bring her to spay next week, but just now, I saw the pee with a little blood. What should I do right now? Does petco has vet who could deal with this? Thanks.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor PP! No, Petco/VetCo is not a full service vet, the clinics only do vaccinations and wellness services NOT sick appointments. PP needs to see a Vet today. Causes of bloody urine are: stress bladder inflammation (cystitis), urinary tract infection, crystals in the urine or bladder stones. Prevent her from urination by keeping her in her carrier or in a room with out a litter box for a few hours before the appointment so the Vet can collect a urine sample to test. If she has a urinary tract infection she will be put on antibiotics. I wish you the best!
