My pregnant dog's temperature is dropping. Is she about to give birth?

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 3 years and 7 months old | 60 lbs

so harley is 59 days today( going from the 2nd of 3 matings on 13th the 16th and 18th) this morning her temp was 99.0 at 10am and just checked again and it was 98.9. normally over the last week her temp fluctuates between 100.4 and 99.5. so what are thoughts

It sounds like Harley is preparing for birth. Average gestation is 63 to 65 days , but parturition (birth) can happen anytime from 58 to 68 days. When the temperature drops by about 1 degree Fahrenheit from her normal temperature you can expect her to give birth within 24 to 48 hours. This is not a 100% surefire determination, so do not panic if it takes a bit longer. Watch her for building a nest, dripping milk, and general nervousness.
