What are the best ways to prevent ticks on my 4-month-old GSD puppy?

I have a 4 month old GSD. My mom takes out the ticks that she finds on him. However is there anything that we can do to avoid having ticks on him in the first place? Please guide. Thank you in advance. Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male

I’m unsure what products you have in the U.K., but some of my favorite products are Credelio, Nexgard, Bravecto or Simparica. These are all oral products that will prevent fleas as well as kill the ones on your dog. I hope that helps!
