Can I give my dog Valium with Clomicalm for separation anxiety relief?

My dog was given clomicalm for severe seperation anxiety, however I have read it can take up to 4 weeks to take effect. Can valium be given with the clomicalm for the first week or two? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | 70 lbs
