My dog keeps chewing concrete and wood. Is it a sign of parasites?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 70 lbs

Good evening, I noticed that my doggie has been occassionally chewing on board and concrete. Could this be a sign of internal parasites? Your feedback will be highly appreciated. Respectfully, Alex

Chewing on board and concreete is not likely a sign of internal parasites. It could be that your dog likes thee texture of the material and therefore chews on it. This could also be caused by a chronic gastro-intestinal problem, as research has found out that dogs with such problems often chew on and/or eat non-food matters. In any case I would try to prevent Bunny from chewing concrete board, as ingestion of the material may cause severe gastro-intestinal problems and can also damage her teeth.
