My cat got an extra Enalapril dose. How do I adjust his schedule?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Sphynx | Male | neutered | 1 year and 10 months old | 9.6 lbs

My cat receives 2.5mg dose of Enalapril once daily at 7 AM. Last night my husband gave a second dose for the day by accident at 7 PM, not realizing it's only for the morning. I did not give him his normal dose today just incase. Should I give him a dose at 7 PM tonight so he has one and then resume as usual tomorrow at 7 AM, or should I withhold a dose today completely and resume tomorrow at 7 AM as usual?

Hello. You can definitely skip the 7 PM dose today & restart the schedule tomorrow morning, or if you think it will simplify things, just give the pill in the evenings from here on out. But, skipping tonight & restarting in the morning will have no adverse consequences for Walter. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
