Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Can a Tamaskan Dog be a service dog? The only reason i am asking is because they are not recognized by the American kennel club. also are they recommended for service work?

Any dog can be a service dog, it does not need to be recognized by the AKC. They are highly intelligent dogs, so they may be good for the training required in order to have a dog become a service dog. I hope this helps!
