Why is my cat throwing up yellow/brown after eating cereal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered

Hi our cat just vomited it was weird yellow and brown substance I have a just a bit in the first picture. All of a sudden his nose also turned red. He was just sitting on our carpet when all of a sudden he started. He had a normal diet today, except my older sister left out her cereal today and turns out he ate some. Is this because of the cereal or is something else? He vomited once but periodically like after a couple seconds he vomited again. Please help.

Hello, Vomiting can occur with dietary indiscretion but also intestinal obstructions, parasites, inflammation of pancreas, kidney or liver. If vomiting persists, I would advise you to follow up with Puma’s veterinarian to discuss abdominal x-rays, bloodwork and a fecal exam.
