Does my 2-month-old puppy need more vaccinations after initial shots?

I have a 2month old pomeranian with his shots and i want to know if i have to take him in for another shots

Yes, absolutely. Your puppy will need 4 courses of vaccinations. At this age he had one se, or at thee most two sets. Please find out where he was vaccinated (veterinarian) and which vaccines he received. If you cannot find out , treat him as if he were never vaccinated and take him to your vet for vaccinations.

    No. It will be fine (as long as Scar does not have a pre-existing allergic reaction) but do remember to separate out vaccines by 2-4 weeks to make them effective. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Hello, Oso should be vaccinated with a Distemper, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, Hepatitis, and coronavirus. Additionally, he should also be vaccinated for rabies and bordetella. He will need 3 booster shots of the first combo vaccine, a booster of his bordetella, and repeat booster of all of these when he is 1 year of age. Hope this helps and best of luck.

My puppy received distemper/adenovirus type 2/parvovirus/parainfluenza shots at 6 weeks. What shots are required at 9 weeks?
Usually, another 1-2 sets of the combo vaccine are required. Your vet may also recommend additional vaccines depending on your location, such as for leptospirosis or bordetella. Once your pup is about 4-6 months of age, they will also need their first rabies vaccination.

I would recommend taking your new family member to a vet for a good exam. It is always important to have a new patient looked at to make sure there are no congenital defects like heart murmur, umbilical hernia or additional issues. your vet can discuss vaccines but typically in the united states we start with distemper parvo at 6 weeks and booster every 3-4 weeks until they are 16 weeks old. congrats on the cutie

The first vaccination by now will have lost all effectivity. So you are starting basically from the beginning. Your puppy will need three courses of DHPP as a basic core course of vaccinations. It will also need a rabies shot. These will need a booster after one year and then he will only need vaccinations every three years. If you only vaccinate once, the body will not make the specific antibodies necessary for the viral diseases covered, but will only initiate a general immune response. Only the second and third course will then entice the body's immune system to make specific antibodies. Vaccines are given in 2-3 week intervals.

Vaccine recommendations to partially depend upon his lifestyle and where you live. Also, that second vaccine should have been given in a 2 to 4 week window from the initial vaccine. If it was given later than four weeks after the first vaccine, he will need booster vaccines within a 2 to 4 week window. Assuming he was given the vaccines at the appropriate time, Kai should get another DHLPP and a rabies vaccine. If he gets groomed, goes to the park or has contact with other dogs in general, you may consider getting a kennel cough vaccine. Other vaccines are for Lyme disease and Influenza (dog flu). Your local veterinarian can discuss if these diseases are present in your area and what potential risk factors exist. You may be able to find lower cost vaccinations at a low-cost vaccine clinic or a vaccine clinic in general. You can generally find information online. Without vaccinations your dog will not be protected against the most common diseases that can harm him, the 6 in 1 vaccination is usually given first and the rabies is given after the set of 3 vaccinations is done.

Hello. With vaccines, in puppies, they should get vaccines (including both the Parvovirus and the CDV/CAV/CPI) 3 times. This is to make sure they are covered as mom's immunity wears off, and vaccines require a booster to work. So, puppies typically get Parvo/CDV/CAV/CPI at age 8 weeks, Parvo/CDV/CAV/CPI at age 12 weeks, and Parvo/CDV/CAV/CPI + Rabies at age 16 weeks. They they require Parvo/CDV/CAV/CPI + Rabies one year later, and then vaccines every 1-3 years depending on the products used. It looks like your puppy was vaccinated once, and will require 2 more boosters. If you have waited more than 4 weeks (which likely have have as he is 4 months now) he will need 2 more sets. One now, and 1 in 4 weeks from now. He can get his Rabies with this first set now. Also, for kennels, they often want him to be vaccinated for Kennel Cough (and if you are going to vaccinate this is a VERY good idea). There is an intra-nasal vaccine that can be given that will be effective with 1 dose

Puppies should be vaccinated at 8, 12, and 16 weeks of age. They also should be dewormed every two weeks until they are 16 weeks old. With each set of vaccines, every puppy should get a DAPP vaccine. This is the vaccine that protects puppies against distemper and parvo. There are several other vaccines that your vet might recommend depending on what diseases are present in you area. You should start as if she was a puppy, she will need a full vaccination course (2-3 vaccinations 4 weeks apart). you should also get her dewormed and treated for fleas. make an apointment with your local vet in order to start the process ASAP.
