Why isn't my 10-month-old kitten eating or active for two days?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 9 months and 1 day old | 5 lbs

Good night. My ten (10) month old male kitten has not been eating for the past two (2) days and also he has not been active. Additionally, I tried offereing him the foods that he usually likes, but he seems to have no interest in food. I know that I have not asked a specific question, but your feedback in this matter will be highly appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration. Respectfully, Alex

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Treatment would be based on findings. Good luck and have a great day! Hoping for a speedy recovery!
