Bringing home a new dog: How to introduce him to my cats safely?

Hi , I'm adopting a dog from my local shelter & I have already done a " meet & greet " with him and my Chawawa ( can't spell that ) . They seem to be a good match . Question is , how do I introduce him to my 6 rescued cat's ?? I had a paper towel I rubbed all over the cat's & let him smell it . He didn't seem to care . Any help will be great . Thank You. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 40 lbs

I would recommend separating the cats in another area of the house when Sam comes home. Over time, you can bring out one cat at a time to see how they interact. Make sure that the cats always have a safe space away from Sam to be safe.
