Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 25 days old | 0.55 lbs
Hello, I am currently fostering and orphaned kitten, it is four weeks today, it eats very well, I could even say maybe a bit too much, it’s belly is always rounded (pees after each feeding and poops every other day) however it weights only 250 grams( 8ounces). It it underweight for its age? My other concern is that it hasn’t learnt how to walk properly, I see it trying but sometimes it’s dragging its back limbs and other times rising them too high. Should I be worried?

Submit a stool sample to your veterinarian to diagnose intestinal parasites which are common in kittens. At 4 weeks of age, Gatsby shoukdbweigh about 1 pound. You can offer a slurry made from KMR (kitten milk replacer) and a high quality kitten canned food. Offer food about 4-5 times a day. An exam with the vet would be recommended anyway to rule out injury or neurological conditions that may be affecting his gait.
