Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | spayed | 1 year and 4 months old | 70 lbs
My dog randomly started vomiting this morning. This is the first time she’s done it since I got her 4 months ago. As I walked around, I found more spots where she vomited throughout the night. She didn’t want to go for her walk this morning and just seems to be wandering around and stretching. I think she may have a belly ache, but I wanted to be sure. She’s a one year old German Shepherd. Yestetoday, I gave her a product of Lick’s zen, which is supposed to have natural calming ingredients.

Throwing up can have many causes. It is basically a problem with the stomach and intestines caused by a food over sensitivity, eating something that does not agree with the dog, intestinal parasites, bacterial infection, viral infection, the weather, food change, stress, etc. At worst, it could be a sign of bloat or a GDV(twisted stomach) I would fast Ember for 24 hours and then put her on bland food for two days, such as boiled white rice and boiled white boneless chicken meat, fed in small quantities over several feeds and then transition back to her regular food slowly over a few days. If this does not clear up the vomiting or if the vomiting increases, or if she gets lethargic, she needs to see a veterinarian for an exam right away as there may be something more serious such as bloat or an infection going on. If Ember does not stop vomiting today, she must be seen by a veterinarian today.
