I am sorry to hear about Meeko. It is possible he has an ear infection or he could have a foreign body like a grass awn down inside the ear canal that has caused trauma and infection. It is hard to tell from the photo if the discharge is actually coming from the canal itself or if the discharge is from the skin on the face directly in front of the ear, in which case it could be a hot spot https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4952981 . In either case, he needs to see the veterinarian to have the area evaluated and get a prescription for an antibiotic. There is not over the counter antibiotic for this issue. If he will allow you to clean the ear you can clean the ear with an over the counter ear cleaner if he will allow it until you are able to have him seen by his vet https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951994
