Pet's info: Dog | Rat Terrier | Female | spayed | 17 years old | 12 lbs
My 12 pound 17 year old Rat Terrier has a severe gum and tooth infection. On 10/3, she was given an injection of Convenia. Since then she has become very lethargic. She didn't have much of an interest in food for several days before. But she readily drank water. Now I am feeding her food and water through an eye dropper. She also seems weak, more so today. Could these be side effects of the antibiotic or a healing crisis?

It could be a side effect of convenia but it is more likely to be the ongoing tooth infection, i personally do not like convenia as a treatment for teeth infections i believe there are much better options such as Clindamycin and Amoxyclav that work much better in mild cases (in severe cases the tooth needs to be removed).
