Is my cat's white penis tip from catheter or new crystal blockage?

my cat came home from an overnight stay at the vet for a struvite crystal blockage. they put in a catheter and flushed him and left it in overnight, about 30 hrs. i noticed tonight when his penis came out when he was licking it that the tip is white and then redder than normal behind that. is that from the catheter or is the white more crystals!? the white is the most concerning part, as i know the red is just irritation. I am sorry to hear about Odin! We can sometimes see a plug of crystals or cells at the tip of the penis, so it is possible this is the case. If he is urinating on his own now, I would recommend calling his vet in the morning to ask if they had observed this color difference already. We do sometimes try to remove this plug with gentle massage of the tip of the penis with sterile lubricant, but if his penis is already irritated it may not be sometimes he would tolerate at home. If he is unable to urinate again, then he needs to return to the vet.
