My dog on Vetoryl for Cushing's has new symptoms. Can I stop it?

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund miniature | Male | neutered | 9 lbs

doxie has cushings on vetoryl med, now, he is not drinking or eating much, he pee's/poops, has no energy,walks in circles, gets stuck, snaps at us(gentle) can I take him off the Vetoryl to see if he responds any differently he is on 15mg twice a day he weighs approx 8/9 lbs and is 11 YO

I would not expect the signs you are describing to be secondary to the Vetoryl and I would not recommend stopping the medication without talking to your veterinarian first. Unfortunately there are not many safe alternative treatments for Cushing’s disease. I would be concerned that Boots might be showing signs of pain or potentially neurologic disease. It would be a good idea to have your vet examine him and to discuss these concerns.
