When is it safe to treat my injured cat for fleas and worms?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | 1 year and 9 months old | 4.5 lbs

Hello, I rescued a cat off the side of the road 5 days ago that was hit by a car. She is a year or two old. I took her to a hospital and they said she has a broken pelvis and jaw. She is doing well, eating lots and using the litter, although she does have diarrhea (but that could be from feeding her nutrient paste and water). The thing I'm now hoping to fix is her flea problem and possible worm problem. She is getting anti infection shots daily now.. when is it okay to treat for worms and fleas?

Yes it ia sbsolutely ok to treat her for fleas. I would use a spot on such as Advantage or frotnline Plus or similar spot ons. and you can get some Pyrantel Pamoate from your veterinarian to worm her (it is a liquid, that does not taste terrible) or a Drontal for cats tablet.
