We have maltise hes about 9 years old this last year hes oppsessed with my husband he cant even leave or go to the bathroom or walk out to the garage are starts have a fit he has always slept with us but last month he started barking at me when i come to bed our dog need to be in eye site of my husband. Part of your problem may have come about because you let Dudley sleep in the bed with you. He needs to have his own sleep space right away--perhaps a mat on the floor of your room,. You cannot let a tiny Maltese run your home. Do not let your husbancd give in to the dog's demands. Let Dudley have his fits. Once he learns that they are not going to get him what he wants, he will stop. It may take a while, so be prepared. Ignore all related behavior. In the meantime, your husband goes where he wants without regard for Dudley's reactions. This will be a battle of wills. Dudley has to learn that he is not your littermate (a behavior and belief reinforced by having him sleep with you).
