My dog has been having trouble breathing through his nose when he gets excited. He used to play rough with cats and I think they messed with his zigamatic arch. I took him to a vet and they said some dogs just get it. Something just activates?

When dogs plays and exercise they get home, in order to cool themselves they need to breath through the mouth in order to pant, this is because dogs cannot sweat like we do, they cool themselves mainly through there tongue while panting, i think this would be a more logical explanation to what is happening to him.
